The G. Ross Freeman Foundation, Inc. was incorporated
by the Georgia Secretary of State as a non-profit
charitable organization with a self-perpetuating
Board of Directors on February 4, 2002. The Internal
Revenue Service approved the Foundation July 16,
2002 as a Tax Exempt Organization under regulation
code 501(c)(3)to receive contributions.
The Foundation operates exclusively for charitable,
educational and religious purposes.
The Board Of Directors is responsible for protecting,
managing and increasing the corpus of the fund
to finance the G. Ross Freeman Leadership Award
and to develop the educational aspects for strengthening
local church Fellowships of United Methodist Men.
The purpose of the Foundation is to present a
G. Ross Freeman Leadership Award each year to
the Pastors approved by The Jurisdictional Awards
Committee as designated by the Annual Conference
Selection Committee and sponsor educational aspects
of the program.
Officers of the Board Of Directors, elected to
five year terms on a rotating basis with the possibility
of re-election, are:
- Roy Lifsey, President
- Walter L. Johnson, Vice President/Treasurer
- Larry S. Bryant, Secretary
- George R. Freeman, Educational Director
- Dr. William Green
- John Dowell
- Dr. G. Ross Freeman, Lifetime Emeritus
