He realizes that a vibrant UMM organization has an impact with men ministry. Rev. Carter participates in the UMM activities, including breakfast on Saturday morning, playing on the softball team and participation in a district-wide building project at Camp Rockfish. He leads Bible studies in his church and encourages the men to participate because he understands that a strong biblical knowledge is a cornerstone of Christian discipleship. Rev. Carter plans to participate in the “No Man Left Behind" conference. He states that he has learned a few things in pre-conference materiel that he will use in his Men’s ministry.
For these and many other reasons, it is with great pride that the United Methodist Men of the North Carolina Conference join the United Methodist Men of the Southeastern Jurisdiction in presenting the G. Ross Freeman Leadership Award to Rev. Ross Carter for 2011.
